Born from a Ligurian father and a Sicilian mother, Luciano and Daniele Boidi (born in 1996 and 1997) graduated in Piano in 2019, both with honours and special mention, from the “A. Casella” Music School in L’Aquila.
After an early solo career that led them to rise above the best Italian piano soloists, they started excelling as Boidi Piano Duo in 2018, when they were awarded the “Excellentissimus Prize” for national outstanding artists at the Pontifical Institute of Sacred Music in Rome, and in 2019, when they were selected among 12 Italian and foreign ensembles for the Chamber Music section of the National “Premio delle Arti”.
The Duo was awarded the most substantial scholarship by the Tel-Hai International Piano Masterclasses 2019 (Israel), and they performed at the Evens Hall and the Interdisciplinary Centre at Ben-Gurion University (SdeBoker-Desert of Negev). Among more than 90 applicants from all over the world, the Boidis were selected as best piano duo to perform at the Sala Recanati of the “Tel Aviv Museum of Arts” in the Final Gala Concert.
In 2020, for the third year running, the Boidi Piano Duo received the Merit Award from the Preganziol (Treviso) municipality as Italian and International Outstanding Artists, and they were also included in the list of 2020 Veneto’s Most Oustanding Pianists as best piano duo.
Winner of national and international competitions, both in piano duo and in chamber music, such as the Carles & Sofia International Piano Competition (Girona, 2021), the 3rd WPTA Finland International Piano Competition 2021 (Helsinki, 2021), the International Competition for Young Musicians (Zagabria, 2021), the Elite Musicians (Iasi- Romania, 2021), the 2nd ISCART International Competition (Lugano, 2021), the 6th Odin IMC (European Academic Arts Association, 2021), the 17th Beograd IC Davorin Jenko (with special mention – Belgrade, 2020), the 5th Encontro Internacional de Piano de Sardoal (Coìmbra, 2020), the 5th Budapest Danubia Talents IMC (Budapest, 2020), the XII International Music Competition “Città di Treviso” (Treviso, 2020) among many others, the Boidi Piano Duo performs both in Italy and abroad for institutions including the “Società dei Concerti” (Milan), the “Oratorio del Gonfalone” (Rome), the “Amici della Musica di Trapani”, the “Diana” theatre (Naples), the “Casa de Kamna” (Radovljica, Slovenia), the “Nei Suoni dei Luoghi” festival (Udine), the “Armonie in Città e CarniArmonie” (Udine), the “Illuminazioni” International Festival in Portogruaro, and many others.
